Radial keratomy

Incisions in the cornea to flatten or steepen it to achieve clear vision without the need of corrective lenses.

85% of patients achieve 20/40 or better uncorrected visual acuity after the initial procedure but may be associated with undercorrection and hyperopic drift along with adverse processes of infection, perforation, scarring, glare, astigmatism and fluctuation vision.

The procedure has been replaced by excimer laser techniques.
