Heterochromia iridis

Refers to the presence of one blue and one brown iris.

Varying degrees of this phenomenon exists with sectoral and central heterochromia.

May be inherited or acquired.

May be caused by chronic uveitis, or rarely by an underlying neuroblastoma.

Inherited heterochromia may be associated with Waardenburg syndrome with sensorineural deafness or with piebaldism.
