A medication that used for certain conditions that lead to thrombocytopenia, such as thrombocytopenia associated with chronic liver disease in adults who are to undergo a planned medical or dental procedure.
Routes of administration by mouth
It acts as a thrombopoietin receptor agonist: It works by causing the body to produce more platelets.
It is also used to treat thrombocytopenia in people with chronic immune thrombocytopenia.
Side effects: extreme tiredness
headache, nosebleeds or gum bleeding,and
joint pain.
Symptoms of overdose may include the following:
swollen, painful, red or tender leg, shortness of breath, cough, chest pain, fast heartbeat stomach pain or tenderness.
