May inhibit patients from completing appropriate treatment courses, and can potentially increase the risk of treatment failure.

Probiotics inhibit the disruption of gut flora caused by antibiotics.

Probiotics reduce the rate of antibiotic associated diarrhea when administered concomitantly with antibiotic therapy.
