Vaginal yeast

Estimated that 75% of women will experience one or more vaginal yeast infections during their reproductive years.

Approximately 70% of women are colonized by vaginal yeasts and C albicans is identified in 98% of those cases.

Factors that predict for yeast colonization are progesterone use, recent sexual activity, marijuana use, colonization with Lactobacillus species and concurrent group B streptococci colonization.
