The TIN gene encodes the sarcomere protein titin.
TIN truncated mutations are common cause of dilated cardiomyopathy, occurring in approximately 25% of familial cases of idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and in 18% of sporadic cases (Herman DS et al).
