Proteus syndrome

Characterized by overgrowth of skin, connective tissue, brain and other tissues.

Associated with patchy or segmental overgrowth and hyperplasia of multiple tissues and organs, along with susceptibility to the development of tumors.

Suggested to be caused by somatic mosaicism for a mutation that is lethal in the non-mosaic state.

Incidence is less than one case per million.
