Supraventricular arrhythmia requiring treatment occurs in 2% of patients during and in 6.1% of patients after surgery.
During intraoperative period the prevalence ration of supraventricular tachycardia to atrial fibrillation is 2:1 whereas the reverse is true after surgery.
