Parapoxvirus

Orf or infectious ecthyma associated with a cutaneous lesion and regional adenopathy.

Associated with contact of a sheep or goat.

A zoonotic infection caused by a dermatotropic parapoxvirus that commonly infects sheep and goats.

Transmitted to humans via contact with infected animal or fomites.

Manifests as an ulcerative skin lesion that resembles bacterial infection or neoplasm.

Usually associated with occupational animal contact.

Has occurred in children following visits to a petting zoo and livestock fairs.
