Leukemia cutis

Defined as infiltration of leukemia cells or their precursors into the epidermis, dermis or subcutaneous tissue.

Highest incidence seen in acute monocytic leukemia and acute myelomonocytic leukemia-3-13%.

Often manifests as single or multiple red to violaceous papules, plaques, and nodules, or as a generalized erythema tours maculopapular eruption.

The lower extremities are most frequently involved, followed by arms, back, chest, scalp and face.

Lesions are not usually painful, pruritic, or tender.

Usually associated with bone marrow disease, but can be only involvement.

May herald acute leukemia.

Prognosis poor, ass 88% of patients die within 1 year.
