Karnofsky performance status scale

Rating scale from 0-100 in 10 point increments, representing death and normal performance as the lower and upper scores, respectively.

A good performance status at the time of diagnosis or treatment for patients with cancer is associated with a good prognosis.

Able to carry on normal activities 90

Minor signs or symptoms of disease

Normal activity with effort 80

Care for self 70

Unable to carry on normal activity or to do active work

Requires occasional assistance but able to care for most of their needs 60
