Related to peripheral arterial ischemia.
Differential diagnosis: peripheral arterial disease,arterial thromboembolism, embolus from infectious or thrombotic material from endocarditis, cholesterol emboli, paradoxical embolus via an intracardiac shunt, precipitation of cryoglobulins, small vessel vasculitis and secondary vasculitis from an underlying collagen vascular disease, and thromboangiitis (Buerger’s disease).
