Elritercept

Elritercept is an investigational fusion protein designed to treat anemia by binding to and blocking select TGF-β superfamily proteins like activins and growth differentiation factors.

A modified activin receptor type IIA ligand trap fused to a human IgG1 Fc domain.

Mechanism: It inhibits signals from Activin A/B and GDF-8/11 to help rebalance blood cell production (hematopoiesis).

Effects: Preclinical and early clinical trials show it increases red blood cells, hemoglobin, reticulocytes, and platelets.

Being studied for anemia related to lower-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myelofibrosis
