Cervical myofascial pain

Myofascial pain refers to pain from muscle and its surrounding fascia.

Muscles in the cervical spine that can be involved by the presence of trigger points are the trapezius, levator scapulae, rhomboids, supraspinatus and infraspinatus.

Trigger points refer to hyperirritable areas localized in a palpable taut band of muscle fibers.
