Cell cycle

1016

Proper cell division requires several events in the cell cycle including centrosome duplication, repositioning of genetic material.

Resting cells are in the G0 stage.

Four successive phases G1, S phase, G2, and M phase.

The events of the cell cycle do not occur continuously.

Orderly progression of phases orchestrated by cyclins and cyclin dependent kinases and their inhibitors.

Information from the external environment and the cells internal milieu are integrated during the G1 and G2 intervals and they determine whether to proceed into S phase or M phases.

Mitosis divided into 5 phases-prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
