A prodrug; its active metabolite is cefpodoxime.
Supplied both as film-coated tablets and as flavored granules for oral suspension.
Tablets contain cefpodoxime proxetil equivalent to 100 mg or 200 mg of cefpodoxime activity.
Excreted by the kidneys.
