CD33

Antigen that is a 67 kD glycosylated transmembrane protein.

Normally expressed on mulitlineage and myelomonocytic precursor cells and its expression is down regulated on granulocytes.

Expression frequent in leukemic blasts from AML and myelodysplastic syndrome while out of the hematopoietic system.

A sialic acid-dependent adhesion protein found on the surface of leukemia myeloid blasts but not on normal hematopoietic stem cells.

Targeted by Gemtuzumab ozogamicin.

Expressed in glial cells and in Kupffer cells of the liver.
