Brown recluse spider bite

Loxosceles family spider bite and L. reclusus is the most notorious member of the genus with cytotoxic and hemolytic venom.

Causes necrotic skin wounds.

The size of a quarter and of several shades of brown with a dark area on the cephalothorax resembling a violin (fiddleback spider).

Reclusive, pref2242ing dark habitats.

Endemic in southeastern Nebraska through Texas, east Georgia and southern Ohio.
