Aggressive lymphomas

Include diffuse large cell B cell lymphoma, peripheral T cell lymphomas, Burkitt lymphoma and lymphoblastic lymphoma.

Autologous stem cell transplantation includes both progression free survival and overall survival among patients with diffuse, aggressive non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in second remission.

In the study of 397 patients with high risk or high-intermediate risk lymphoma treated with CHOP or CHOP-rituximab:-responding patients were randomly assigned to three additional cycles of induction chemotherapy or to one additional cycle of induction chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation: early autologous stem cell transplantation includes progression free survival, but overall survival was not improved after transplantation because of effectiveness of salvage transplantation (Stiff PJ et al).
