Primary tumor staging
pTx Primary tumor cannot be assessed
pT0 No evidence of primary tumor
pTis Intratubular germ cell neoplasia
pT1 Tumor limited to the testes and epididymis without lymphovascular invasion, tumor may invade tunica albuginea but not tunica vaginalis
pT2 Tumor limited to the testis and epididymis with lymphovascular invasion or tumor extending through the tunica albuginea with involvement of the tunica vaginalis.
pT3 Tumor invades the spermatic cord with or without lymphovascular invasion.
pT4 Tumor invades the scrotum with or without lymphovascular invasion.
Stage I Tx,N0,M0 disease confined to the testis and peritesticular tissue.
Stage II Tx,N1 or N2a,M0 fewer than 6 positive nodes without extension into retro peritoneal fat, no node greater than 2 cm
Stage IIA nodes less than 2 cm
Stage IIB nodes 2-5 cm
Stage IIC nodes >5-10cm
Stage IID nodes >10 cm
Stage II TxN2b,M0 six or more positive nodes well-encapsulated and/or retro peritoneal fat extension; any node >2cm
Stage II Tx,N3,M0 Any node >5cm
Stage III Tx,Nx,M1 Supradiaphragmatic and infradiaphragmatic adenopathy
Stage IV disseminated disease-lungs, live and bone
