The muscle, and its nerve make up a myotome.
C1/C2-neck flexion/extension
C3-neck lateral flexion
C4-shoulder elevation
C5-shoulder abduction
C6-elbow flexion/wrist extension
C7-elbow extension/wrist flexion
C8-thumb extension
T1-finger abduction
L2-hip flexion
L3-knee extension
L4-ankle dorsi-flexion
L5-great toe extension
S1-ankle plantar-flexion
S2-knee flexion
C3,4 and 5 supply the diaphragm.
C5 supplies the shoulder muscles and the muscle that bendd the elbow .
C6 bends the wrist back.
C7 straightens the elbow.
C8 bends the fingers.
T1 spreads the fingers.
T1 –T12 supplies the chest wall & abdominal muscles.
L2 bends the hip.
L3 straightens the knee.
L4 pulls the foot up.
L5 wiggles the toes.
S1 pulls the foot down.
S3,4 and 5 supply the bladder. bowel and sex organs and the anal and other pelvic muscles.
