A benign , linear inflammatory skin condition that is self limited.
Follows the lines of Blaschko.
Usually diagnosed clinically, but may require biopsy confirmation.
Histology findings include: lichenoid, lymphocytic infiltrate with overlying epidermal acanthodians, dyskeratosis, hyperkeratosis, and lymphocytic exotosis.
Lines of Blaschko represent pathways of epidermal cell migration and proliferation during fetal development and reflect cutaneous mosaicism.
Skin eruptions such as psoriasis, morphea, lupus erythema toss and epidermal nevi may also follow the lines of Blaschko.
