Foot metastases most commonly related to tumors of gastrointestinal or genitourinary origin.
Hand metastases most common caused by lung cancers.
Digital bones most commonly involved on both phalanges of the hand and tarsal bones in the foot.
Account for 1/500 of lung cancer is presenting with osseous metastases (Long LS et al).
Indicative of a poor prognosis with a mean survival of 3-6 months.
