Mirabegron

Mirabegron works by relaxing the bladder muscle, which helps increase the bladder’s storage capacity.

Brand name is Myrbetriq.

Mirabegron is used alone or in combination with solifenacin (Vesicare) to treat overactive bladder, where muscles contract uncontrollably and cause frequent urination, urgent need to urinate, and inability to control urination in adults.

It works by relaxing the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination.

It is also used to treat neurogenic detrusor overactivity (a bladder control condition caused by brain, spinal cord or nerve problems in children 3 years of age and older.

It belongs to a class of drugs called beta-3 adrenergic agonists.

Unlike anticholinergic medications mirabegron works through a different mechanism and typically has fewer side effects like dry mouth and constipation.

Common side effects
